On Saturday February 25 I will be running my first Self Publishing workshop in York. If you are interested please get in touch through this page. There are currently four places left. I will be looking at how to publish an ebook on Amazon Kindle. Future workshops will look at how to format a book with a view to publishing as a paperback.

A joint concert on Saturday November 12 at York Explore Library, Museum St,York. 2 – 3.30. I’m looking forward to doing my performance, The Nameless Children, based on my gothic, supernatural novel of the same name. I will be using original words and songs and playing music on the guitar, hurdy gurdy and Appalachian dulcimer. A Waggoner’s Lad is a fascinating, sometimes poignant story told in words and original songs by David Swann. It tells of his grandad, Charlie Swann, an East Yorkshire Waggoners, from being hired at a hiring fair to volunteering for the Waggoner’s Reserve and his life at the front in France during WWI. Thanks very much to everyone who has bought a copy of The Disappearing Hedgehog book. It now has eight 5 Stars on Amazon! Just had another request from The Whitby Bookshop for more copies. I wrote the book, based on 25 years running York Hedgehog Rescue, for the many people who find themselves with a hedgehog in need and can’t get help for it until the following day. It contains many exceptional success stories, how to attract hedgehogs to your garden etc. The book is available from my website:
